Palma

Palma has a thousand years of architectural and cultural heritage. The exciting contrast between the historic buildings and trendy districts makes Palma one of the most attractive tourist centres. Beautiful buildings of different eras testify to the eventual history of the city, which is characterised by predatory raids and conquests.

The collection ‘Palma’s Old Town’ is inspired by the Royal Palace from the 14th century. The Royal Palace is of Moorish origin and today is used for receptions of the Spanish king and official occasions. The oldest remains of the palace date back to the time of Moorish rule. After the conquest of Mallorca, King Jaume I of Aragon had the palace further expanded. Today, the various rulers of Mallorca have repeatedly demolished parts, added buildings and reinforced the walls. Over the centuries, fortress-like buildings with Arabic and Gothic elements were built.
